programmes

The projects that Kinderpostzegels support are grouped in four different programmes.

1. right to education

This programme focuses particularly on projects abroad where it transpires that for many children the right to education is not an automatic entitlement.

2. right to protection and security

This programme includes projects that protect children from abuse, bullying, exposure to media violence, child labour and exploitation. There is also help for people with family problems and with difficulties in child-raising as well as neighbourhood mediation for youngsters.

3. right to full citizenship

This programme includes projects that focus on youth participation, social cohesion, multicultural projects, refugee problems, children of asylum-seekers and other problems with minorities.

4. right to healthy development

This programme includes many projects that focus on eating problems, the prevention of illnesses, addiction and psychological problems. Some projects for disabled children abroad also fall into this category.

personal development

Kinderpostzegels supports activities that help children and young people to find their niche in society. One example of this is the initiatives abroad to set up projects in the field of 'basic education'. This broad form of education provides children with prospects for a productive life.

safe and secure environment

Whether at home, at school or in the street, a safe living environment is always important. Initiatives that focus on protecting children against aggression, neglect or sexual exploitation can expect to receive high priority from Kinderpostzegels. Projects that teach children to prevent violence, bullying and discrimination are also priority areas for Kinderpostzegels.
