Inaugural meeting Better Care Network Netherlands:
The afternoon programme is intended for those who are actively involved in private initiatives for the care of children who cannot live at home in developing countries, in Eastern Europe and in the Netherlands and for people involved in this in a professional capacity.
The meeting is the initiative of the Dutch department of the Better Care Network that will be officially launched on that afternoon. In the course of the meeting, there will be ample opportunities to get to know more about the network's objectives and its working methods. Kinderpostzegels is one of the participants in the Dutch network.
The Better Care Network (BCN) is a collaboration of organisations and individuals who are actively involved, both at home and abroad, in the care for children who do not have adequate parental care. By working together, they want to combine their knowledge and experience and to promote the interchange of ideas in order to guarantee the safety, the welfare and healthy development of children who (temporarily) cannot live at home. The main purpose is to engineer a constructive collaboration between professional organisations and private initiatives. The international secretariat of BCN is established at UNICEF in New York. BCN has 1100 members. 400 relevant documents are accessible via the website, which 30,000 people visit every month. The Dutch department is the first BCN at national level.
