Disability Development Services Pursat in the province of Pursat
08/08/07 — In Cambodia, Stichting Kinderpostzegels Nederland supports the work of the organisation Disability Development Services Pursat (DDSP) in the province of Pursat. DDSP works with children with a disability, making sure they can go to school whenever possible and that their health situation improves. The aim is for the children to have lessons together with nondisabled children as far as possible.
In the coming year, the project is focusing on 85 children with various disabilities and their carers. 30 children have severe multiple disabilities, 10 children have learning disabilities, there are 15 deaf children and 30 children with moderate disabilities. Many of them come from very poor families. The parents also receive training and aid to increase their family income.
